The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is the most awarded venue in Australia and has been officially ranked among the world’s top 3 convention centres.
The 5 level centre delivers great flexibility with the ability to cater for groups from 8 to 8,000 delegates. For smaller and medium sized meetings there are 2 auditoria for 400 and 600 people with the accompanying foyer spake, speaker’s facilities and private boardrooms, allowing delegates to have their own floor for conferences.
The convention centre’s location in South Bank Parklands provide easy access to the restaurants and boutique shops of South Bank and a short, easy walk into the Brisbane CBD. Not to mention the extensive Brisbane accommodation options also in close proximity, some even directly next door and across the road from the centre.
G20 Leaders Summit
The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is such a world-class venue that the G20 Leaders Summit in 2014 will be hosted there. This means the centre will receive 20 world leaders, 5 non-G20 leaders, 7 major heads of international organisations along with 7,000 delegates and media members. The world’s eye will also be focused on everything that goes on in and comes out of the convention centre.
The G20 summit is a meeting of 20 countries and representatives from the IMF and World Bank to consult on matters of international finance and economic policy. It coordinates policy between members with the intention of improving global economic stability, great sustainable growth and prevent financial crises.
The leaders that make up the G20 represent 90 per cent of global GDP and almost two thirds of the world’s population!
There are literally thousands of hotel rooms within walking distance of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. If you want something really close there are plenty of hotels in South Bank, many offering wonderful views of the Brisbane River and city lights. Only a short walk over the bridge there are plenty of hotels in the main CBD that will give you access to other businesses, shopping and some first class dining.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre maintains a strategic commitment to social responsibility to build a sustainable future for clients, staff and the community. Through a Social Responsibility Program the centre fosters work practices to bring about environmental and community focussed outcomes.
The Ecowatch program aims for sustainable business practices to minimise environmental impacts. The program has introduced a customised Carbon Calculator, an electronic dashboard to measure energy consumption, a retro fit of sensor modes in the centre’s escalators, digital signage and several other green initiatives.
The centre also makes contributions to the local community as it considers the neighbourhood surrounding the centre to be a major stakeholder.
